Radio and TV personality Thando Thabethe annouced that she will be leavingGenerations: The Legacy.
Thando joined the cast of the revamped Generations: The Legacy as the free-spirited Nolwazi Buzo.
In a statement released by the SABC, Thando says: “My years at Generations: The Legacy has been nothing but amazing. What a privilege it’s been to part of this amazing family.
Playing the role of Nolwazi has been nothing short of life-altering. I have learnt so much about myself and the incredible art of acting and I’m forever indebted to the producers, directors, writers, cast and crew and most especially the viewers.”
She added that it was not an easy decision to make but that she’ll take with her “great relationships” and a “better understanding and appreciation” for her craft.
Executive Producer, Mfuni Vundla praised Thando as “one of South Africa’s most talented TV actors”.
Thando will be on air until January, 2018.

Socialite and provocateur Zodwa Wabantu is interested in being an actor and would love to be on Generations: The Legacy, she revealed in a recent interview with DJ Fresh and Somizi Mhlongo on the Fresh Breakfast.
When asked if she had appeared on Generations, Zodwa said no, but said she was very much interested in joining the cast. But a source who works at SABC1 has revealed that Zodwa has contacted the soapie’s producers for auditions.
“I hope I’m getting there,” she said.
Though she had been criticised for her revealing clothes and dancing, Zodwa Wabantu said she coped well with the negativity. She said following comments from people that she had chicken thighs, she was now body-conscious and would start going to gym.
“I’m an outcast, I don’t want to be inside – I’m not a celebrity. I’m still living the exact life that I wanted. Now I’m body-conscious, just that I travel a lot, but I’m gonna start going to the gym. I’m gonna be a bomb,” she said.
